The gloves are off! One of the most highly anticipated new shows of the season,Gerard Alessandrini's FORBIDDEN BROADWAY COMES OUT SWINGING! opened last night, May 4th at 7PM at the newly refurbished Davenport Theatre (354 West 45th Street - between 8th and 9th Avenue). This up-to-the-minute new edition includes Alessandrini's takes on Hedwig, Idina Menzel, Rocky, Cabaret, The Bridges of Madison County, Aladdin, Pippin, the turntable-less Les Miz, Motown, The Sound of Music Live!, Bullets Over Broadway, Kinky Boots and Matilda, among others.

Menzel and Chenoweth 'Too Old' for Film Adaptation of WICKED?

According to Attitude Magazine, Universal Pictures is trying to push the film adaptation of Wicked to the big screen 'sooner rather than later.' The recent movie success of Les Miserables rekindled the company's interest in the project. However, Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth are out of the running for the lead roles.

As first reported by TVLine.com, AMERICAN IDOL's Top-4 Week is going to take a very IF/THEN look at love with the theme 'Love: Break-Ups and Make-Ups.' So, after last night's elimination of personality vacuum Sam Woolf, IDOL's Final Four; Jena Irene, Caleb Johnson, Jessica Meuse, and Alex Preston, will each take their turns with two songs each that 'celebrate the agony and the ecstasy of music's greatest theme.'
