Today we are continuing BroadwayWorld's 2013 Tony Awards Clip Countdown with a special spotlight focused on two of the most memorable musicals of the 1980s, DREAMGIRLS & NINE!

Dreamgirls will run at Maine State Music Theatre, June 5 - 22, 2013. The curtain goes up on June 5 with the Tony Award winning Dreamgirls, offering one of the most stirring, dynamic, rocking, emotional scores ever written for the stage, slathered in R&B, soul, and pop music. Mad Cow Theatre has announced additional performances for the upcoming production of Dreamgirls, with music by Henry Krieger and lyrics and book by Tom Eyen, to be produced in The Harriett Theatre at 54 W. Church Street. The new performances are scheduled for: Thursday, July 4 at 7:30 pm; Friday, July 5 at 7:30 pm; Saturday, July 6 at 7:30 pm; and Sunday, July 7 at 2:30 pm. As BroadwayWorld previously announced, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will produce, in association with La Jolla Playhouse, a re-imagining of Henry Krieger and Bill Russell's Side Show. Directed by Academy Award winning director Bill Condon, the musical will play at La Jolla Playhouse November 5 through December 17 (opening night November 15) and at the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater June 14 through July 13. The musical features book and lyrics by Bill Russell and music by Henry Krieger who will revise the show before its debut at La Jolla.

Martinson has served as a director and administrator at TheatreWorks since 1984

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced it will produce the world premiere original musical production of Little Dancer featuring book and lyrics by Tony Award winner Lynn Ahrens, music by Tony Award winner Stephen Flaherty, and direction and choreography by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman. The musical will begin performances in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater in October 2014. Casting and additional details about Little Dancer will be announced at a later date.

La Jolla Playhouse announces its final production for its 2013/14 season: the world premiere of The Who & The What, by Ayad Akhtar (Disgraced), directed by Kimberly Senior (The North Plan), running February 11 - March 9, 2014 in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre.

The world premiere of 'The Nether,' a new play by Jennifer Haley that explores the moral complexity of our increasingly virtual existence, opened at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre on Sunday, March 24.
