Scorsese, De Niro to Celebrate TAXI DRIVER 40th Anniversary at Tribeca Film Festival

The Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), presented by AT&T, announced today that Martin Scorsese's powerful psychological thriller TAXI DRIVER will celebrate its 40th Anniversary on April 21 at the 15th edition of the Festival.

Emily Atack will now play the role of Holly Golightly in the UK Tour of Breakfast at Tiffany's from 2 May to 11 June 2016, appearing at His Majesty's Aberdeen, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Theatre Royal Bath, Glasgow Theatre Royal, King's Theatre Edinburgh and Wycombe Swan. She will be replacing Verity Rushworth, who has had to withdraw because she is expecting her first child. Emily will be sharing the role with Pixie Lott, whose dates, including the West End season, have been announced previously.

The Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), the nation's premier member organization of independent storytellers, announced today the presenters for the 25th Anniversary IFP Gotham Awards. The ten competitive awards to be presented include Best Feature, Best Documentary, Best Actor, Best Actress (presenting sponsor euphoria Calvin Klein), Best Screenplay, Breakthrough Actor, the Bingham Ray Breakthrough Director Award, the Gotham Audience Award, Breakthrough Series - Long Form, and Breakthrough Series - Short Form. In addition to the competitive awards, Gotham Award Tributes will be given to actors Helen Mirren and Robert Redford, director Todd Haynes, and producer Steve Golin. As the first major awards ceremony of the film season, the Gotham Awards provide critical early recognition and media attention to worthy independent films.

The American Film Institute (AFI) announces today the complete slate of films for the 2015 edition of its AFI European Union Film Showcase, taking place December 120 at the historic AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center in Silver Spring, Maryland. This year's AFI European Union Film Showcase is generously supported by the Delegation of the European Union to the United States as the presenting partner through the EU's Getting to Know Europe grant. Composer Paola Prestini, the Creative and Executive Director of National Sawdust (NS), today announced programming for the non-profit's inaugural fall season in its new home-a $16 million, 13,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art chamber hall in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
