For it's second-season closer, and a total of over 70 different shows, Life Is A Cabaret's Summer Series presented by Les Michaels brings in Dennis McNeil on Sunday, November 20th to reprise his hit show, 'Me and My Big Mouth.'

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Some Lovers, a new musical with book and lyrics by Tony and Grammy Award winner Steven Sater and music by Academy and Grammy Award-winning legend Burt Bacharach. Directed by Will Frears with music supervision by Lon Hoyt and choreography by Denis Jones, Some Lovers will run Nov. 26 - Dec. 31 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run Nov. 26 - Dec. 6. Multi-award winning lyricist Hal David will be honored with a musical tribute, in celebration of his 90th birthday, Monday, October 17, at the Music Center of Los Angeles County. 'Love, Sweet Love' features a star-studded evening of music and dining, benefitting The Blue Ribbon of the Music Center and The ASCAP Foundation. Paul Williams will emcee.

The Librarian of Congress, James H. Billington, announced today that Grammy- and Academy-Award-winning songwriters Burt Bacharach and Hal David will join the ranks of Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, and Paul McCartney as recipients of the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. Bacharach and David each will receive the Library's Gershwin Medal next spring at an all-star tribute in Washington D.C. This will be the fourth time the honor has been awarded and the first time to a songwriting team.
