The Purple Rose Theatre Company (PRTC) announces its 27th season of performances. It will feature the Tony Award-winning drama "God of Carnage" and three world premieres by Michigan-based playwrights.

In 2009 Jeff Daniels was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor in "God of Carnage," the Broadway hit that won Best Play that year. This month The Purple Rose Theatre Company (PRTC), which was founded by Daniels, brings "God of Carnage" to Chelsea.  

The Purple Rose Theatre Company's (PRTC) 5th Annual Backyard BBQ raised nearly $250,000, double its previous record, to support the theatre's 26th season and its apprentice program. DTE Energy Foundation was the presenting sponsor.

The Purple Rose Theatre, Yankee Air Museum and Friends of the Chelsea District Library will honor America's Veterans with a concert reading by professional actors of The Purple Rose of the new play Willow Run by Jeff Duncan, playwright in residence at the Wild Swan Theatre in Ann Arbor. This free event is open to the public and will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 19 at the Chelsea Village Conference Center, 1645 Commerce Park Drive, Chelsea.

Held at the historic Clocktower Commons in downtown Chelsea, Cue 25: Light's Up! connected the theatre's friends, sponsors and artists with founder Jeff Daniels' vision of producing new and classic American plays and providing educational/outreach programs serving diverse communities in the region.
