ABC continues its commitment to distinctive storytelling with the announcement of its 2016-17 slate of programming, including the addition of nine new series. Channing Dungey, president, ABC Entertainment, will unveil the network's new lineup to the advertising and media communities this afternoon at Lincoln Center's David Geffen Hall, in New York City.

ABC Studios has cast the epic event limited series 'When We Rise,' written and created by Academy Award winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black. Starring in the event limited series are Guy Pearce ('Memento,' 'L.A. Confidential') as LGBT activist Cleve Jones, Mary-Louise Parker ('Weeds,' 'Angels in America') as women's rights leader Roma Guy and Rachel Griffiths ('Brothers and Sisters,' 'Six Feet Under') as her wife, social justice activist Diane. The roles of African American community organizer Ken Jones and transgender activist Cecelia Chung are still to be cast, among others.

CoHo Productions' 20th Season continues with a new stage adaptation of Charlotte Perkins Gilman's THE YELLOW WALLPAPER, one of the most important American short stories of the 19th century. This world premiere production will integrate expressionistic audio, visual and movement interludes with the haunting literary text. Sue Mach's adaptation, conceived by Grace Carter and directed by Philip Cuomo, features Carter, Chris Harder and Christy Bigelow. The production runs tonight, January 13 - February 6, 2016.

Time's up. Did you say FANTASTIC FOUR? If so, congratulations, you can skip this impossibly useless film and wait until February's release of DEADPOOL.
