Critically acclaimed magician, illusion designer and actor Brett Schneider portrays a rising young magician who must take the stage just hours after his partner has left him. Though a good magician must always be in control of his show, The Magician's performance begins to unravel, illuminating his offstage life, which may be as fragile as a house of cards. INTAR (Lou Moreno, Artistic Director/John McCormack, Executive Director) is proud to announce that the acclaimed world premiere of THE MAIDS by Jose Rivera, adapted from the play by Jean Genet, will extend until October 30th. Daniel Irizarry directs a cast that features Laura Butler Rivera, Daniel Irizarry, Charlie Munn, Casey Robinson, and Folami Williams. THE MAIDS by Jose Rivera is presented in association with One-Eighth Theater (founded by its Artistic Directors Daniel Irizarry and Laura Butler Rivera), which is continuing its residency at INTAR Theatre. THE MAIDS was developed, in part, with assistance from the Orchard Project, a program of The Exchange (Ari Edelson, Artistic Director Dean Strober, Executive Director, www.exchangenyc.org).

Eclipse Theatre Company announces its Eighth Annual Corona Award, to be presented to Joseph Drummond, Goodman Theatre Production Stage Manager. The Corona Award honors an individual who has played an important role in supporting and nurturing the growth of the Chicago theater community as well as small- to medium-sized ensembles such as Eclipse Theatre. The Corona Award derives its name from the Latin word, meaning crown, as well as outer atmosphere of the sun most easily seen during a total eclipse.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the world premiere production of The Last Tiger in Haiti by playwright Jeff Augustin and directed by Joshua Kahan Brody. A co-production with La Jolla Playhouse, where the play had its world premiere in June, The Last Tiger in Haiti begins previews Today, October 14 and the show runs through Sunday, November 27.
