Seeing Jazz with George Wein is a unique new series at Symphony Space which features jazz impresario George Wein-founder of the Newport Jazz Festival, Newport Folk Festival, and New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival-showing images from his extensive historic photo album, sharing anecdotes about a life lived in jazz and welcoming guest artists to the stage.

Dance, music and theater performances that feature and celebrate prominent African-American artists, and a slate of topical films on a variety of issues comprise the 2010 winter/spring season for Harlem Stage - one of the country's top presenters, producers, and supporters of works by artists of color.

According to Newport Now, 'the dates for the 2010 Newport Folk Festival and Carefusion Newport Jazz Festival have been set, according to the Newport County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

'Newport '57 Revisited: The Legacy of Ella, Billie & Basie' is the theme of the 2007 Jazz Festival Newport

On May 8th, Elaine Stritch will host the New York Pops 23rd Birthday Gala concert at Carnegie Hall, while Liza Minnelli will make a guest appearance
