New York City Center will present the 13th season of New York City Center Encores! Great American Musicals In Concert®, opening February 9 with Kismet starring Brian Stokes Mitchell and Marin Mazzie, followed by the Kander and Ebb musical 70, Girls, 70. George and Ira Gershwin's Of Thee I Sing will end the season, playing May 11 - 14.
Cutko, Larsen Headline Lost Musicals' Silk Stockings

- MANHATTAN THEATRE CLUB (Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove, Executive Producer) has announced the lineup for the 35th anniversary season of its famed 'WRITERS IN PERFORMANCE' (WIP) literary series. Under the direction of Steve Lawson, WIP's eclectic five-event program will celebrate the best in drama, literature and song with tributes to Tennessee Williams, Kurt Weill, Cervantes' Don Quixote, George S. Kaufman and an appearance by opera great (and first-time author) Renee Fleming.

For that special, he also wrote two of the episodes, and the accompanying booklet for the CD set. It seemed a perfect time to check in with this theater historian on the book, the TV special, and of course - about Broadway.

Lynn Redgrave will star in the October 7 reading of her new one-woman play, Nightingale, based on the life of her maternal grandmother, as part of the FOOD FOR THOUGHT season at the National Arts Club (15 Gramercy Park South at 20th Street).
