Julian Ovenden & Kelli O'Hara to Star in FINDING NEVERLAND Musical?

According to Baz Bamingboye in his Daily Mail UK column, the Weinstein Company is planning a four-week workshop of the new musical, Finding Neverland, this fall in New York. The workshop, directed and choreographed by Rob Ashford is said to star Julian Ovenden as J.M. Barrie and Kelli O'Hara as Sylvia Llewelyn Davies. Bamingboye writes that 'if it works - and Ovenden and O'Hara are available - the Weinsteins will launch a big production for Broadway.'

Grammy and Emmy Award winner, Tony Award nominee and multi-platinum recording artist Harry Connick, Jr. will star in a reimagined production of ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER opening fall 2011 on Broadway at a theatre to be announced. The delightful Tony Award nominated score by Burton Lane (music) and Alan Jay Lerner (lyrics) is enhanced by classics from their film scores for On A Clear Day You Can See Forever (1970) and Royal Wedding (1951). With a new book by Peter Parnell based on the original book by Alan Jay Lerner, the musical is reconceived and directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer. Further casting and creative team to be announced shortly.

The New York Philharmonic will present its eighth season of Summertime Classics, conducted and hosted by Bramwell Tovey, June 28-July 5, 2011. The first program - June 28-30 - titled -Tchaikovsky and Other Romantics,? will offer music by great Russian composers such as Khachaturian, Glazunov, and Borodin, with the Philharmonic debut of pianist Kirill Gerstein performing Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1. The second program - July 2, 4, and 5 - titled -Star-Spangled Celebration,? will feature a -Salute to Broadway,? a suite of favorites by Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, and Frederick Loewe; Gershwin's Catfish Row suite from Porgy and Bess; and works for Band and Orchestra, performed by -The Commandant's Own,? The United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps, Major Brian Dix, director, in its Philharmonic debut, and marches by -The March King? - John Philip Sousa.
