This year's writers include 2018 Jonathan Larson winners Andrew Farmer and Andrew Butler, 2018 Kleban winner Amanda Yasnowitz, Tony-winner Ken Davenport, 2018 Lucille Lortel winner for Outstanding Musical (KPOP) Max Vernon, Emmy winner Doug Katsaros, Obie winner Erin Courtney, and the writers of the podcast musical 36 questions who are developing their next musical, Chris Littler and Ellen Winter.

Now in its 23rd season, SUMMERWORKS will run May 19 through June 30 at The Wild Project (195 E 3rd Street) in Manhattan, and will feature productions of three new plays: TIN CAT SHOES by Trish Harnetiaux and directed by Knud Adams; WILDER GONE by Angela Hanks; and PLANO by Will Arbery and directed by Taylor Reynolds.

Award-winning Son of Semele Ensemble opens its 2018 season with Alexander Borinsky's Of Government. Presented as a DIY pageant illuminating the often unsung 'feminine' labor that binds our communities, this West Coast premiere runs March 10 to April 1, 2018 at the Son of Semele Theater, 3301 Beverly Boulevard.

Written by Guillermo Calder n, and translated into English by Andrea Thome, the play follows the rehearsal of three actors in 1905 St. Petersburg, who humorously dance around the topics of love and revolution while a labor riot rages outside. Barker Room Rep announced today that Sam's Tea Shack, an interactive play originating in New York, will be presented at the Atwater Village Theater, November 16 18. The exclusive late night showings are part of a trio of performances produced by Barker Room Rep, Los Angeles-based experimental theater company, which also includes the West Coast premiere of Erin Courtney's A Map of Virtue, November 2 18 and Real Talk / Kip Talk with Kippy Winston, executive produced by Eliza Bent and directed by Sarah Hughes, November 10 & 11.
