National Corporate Theatre Fund (NCTF) held its Annual Chairman's Awards Gala and benefit yesterday, Monday, April 19 at the St. Regis New York hotel. This year, NCTF Chairman James S. Turley, Chairman & CEO of Ernst & Young, honored Nathan Lane (currently starring on Broadway in The Addams Family), set designer Eugene Lee (Wicked) and Wells Fargo & Company. Accepting the award on behalf of Wells Fargo was Joe Kirk, Regional President for New York and Connecticut. All net proceeds of the event will be distributed as the NCTF/WELLS FARGO FUND FOR NEW AMERICAN THEATRE. Special guest Bette Middler stopped by to congratulate the nominees.

The American Repertory Theater is pleased to announce the cast for Johnny Baseball, a world premiere musical about the Red Sox, with music by Robert Reale, lyrics by Willie Reale, book by Richard Dresser, story by Richard Dresser and Willie Reale, with musical direction and vocal arrangements by Wendy Bobbitt Cavett; musical arrangements by Bruce Coughlin.

Elaine Stritch Brings 'Singin' Sondheim' to Cafe Carlyle, 4/20 - 4/29

Tony Award winner Elaine Stritch will perform her concert, 'Singin' Sondheim...One Song at a Time' at the Cafe Carlyle from April 20 - April 29, 2010. Stritch will additionally perform the show as part of Hartford Stage's 2010 SummerStage series from June 17 - 20, 2010, as BroadwayWorld previously reported. Stritch will be joined in Hartford by Chita Rivera and Ben Vereen, who will also be performing solo concerts in Hartford on June 22-27 and July 6-11, respectively.

Megan Mullally Will Replace Jane Lynch in Starz's 'Party Down'

Megan Mullally will join the cast of the Starz's television hit, 'Party Down.' Mullally joins the cast after the departure of GLEE star Jane Lynch, who starred in season one. Lynch left the show in order to continue her work on GLEE. Mullally's character will debut April 23rd.

Kerry Kennedy and the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights, and The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) will present a one-night-only benefit reading of Ariel Dorfman's play SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER: Voices From Beyond The Dark, adapted from Kerry Kennedy's book of the same name, on Monday, May 3 at 7 p.m. All proceeds from the reading will benefit the relief efforts of Habitat for Humanity in Chile.

Bell with musical adaptation and arrangements by Rob Bowman. Legendary singer-dancer-actress Mitzi Gaynor, star of such films as South Pacific, Les Girls, Anything Goes, and a longtime headliner in Las Vegas and the nightclub circuit, making her first NY night club appearance in years in May at Feinstein's at Loews Regency, will be honored with the Bob Harrington Lifetime Achievement Award. Elaine Stritch, the uniquely sensational actress and singer and star of stage, film, and TV, will be recognized in the category of Extraordinary Cabaret Artist, noting her recent conquests of the cabaret stage.
