Jacob's Pillow announces today that Executive and Artistic Director Ella Baff will soon present the fifth annual Jacob's Pillow Dance Award to Crystal Pite, an internationally renowned Canadian choreographer and Artistic Director of contemporary dance company Kidd Pivot Frankfurt RM.

Miami City Ballet's internationally and critically acclaimed company of 50 dancers will be joined by Miami City Ballet School students to present the second Ballet for Young People program at the Adrienne Arsht Center Ziff Ballet Opera House on Saturday, February 12, 2011, 2pm-3pm. The school students open the program with Harlequin and Columbine, based on George Balanchine's Harlequinade, followed by the company dancers in Balanchine's Scotch Symphony.

ROLEX Career Transition For Dancers 25th Anniversary Silver Jubilee was a complete sell out with everyone of the 2,700 seats at City Center filled. Over 800 guests went on the the Hilton for the Anniversary supper, the live luxury auction and dancing with the dancers. The evening raised a cool $ 1.2 Million which will go to CTFD's scholarship programs. Allen Brill, ROLEX USA, CEO & President committed to presenting the annual Jubilee for three more years.

Rolex presented Career Transition For Dancers' 25th ANNIVERSARY SILVER JUBILEE: A STAR-STUDDED RETROSPECTIVE at New York City Center, last night, November 8. The evening highlighted magical moments from past glittering galas. Artists from some of America's greatest dance companies performed: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater; American Ballet Theatre; The Joffrey Ballet; MOMIX; National Dance Institute; and Parsons Dance. Also appearing are Tony Award Winners: Marvin Hamlisch (who wrote a song to premiere at the show), Bebe Neuwirth, Ann Reinking, Chita Rivera, Karen Ziemba with Charlotte d'Amboise, Desmond Richardson and Edward Villella. The entertainment/dance event of the new season had show-stopping Broadway numbers from '42nd Street' and 'Chicago.' The 2010 Rolex Dance Award was presented to Twyla Tharp. The Career Transition For Dancers' Awards for Outstanding Contributions to the World of Dance was presented to the organization's four union founders: Actors' Equity Association, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, American Guild of Musical Artists, Screen Actors Guild; as well as an award each to The Barth Family and to the CTFD President Cynthia G. Miami City Ballet has been selected to make its debut at the 2010 Fall for Dance Festival at New York's City Center September 28th and 29th, 2010. The company will perform Twyla Tharp's 'The Golden Section.' The festival, running September 28th - October 9th, 2010, will showcase 20 dance companies and choreographers from across the United States and around the world. Miami City Ballet is one of ten dance companies making their debut in the festival. 'We are thrilled to perform, as it builds on our ongoing successful relationship with New York City Center, where the company made its debut in 2009,' said Edward Villella, founding artistic director and CEO of Miami City Ballet.

New York City Center's seventh annual Fall for Dance Festival, running September 28 - October 9, will showcase 20 national and international companies and choreographers. With ticket prices remaining at $10 for all seats, a night of dance is more affordable than a night at the movies. The festival will include world and U.S. premieres, and will feature several companies making their first U.S. appearances.

THIRTEEN's Great Performances: Dance in America puts the spotlight on one of America's finest dance companies, Edward Villella's Miami City Ballet, in a program to be taped mid-September in Miami. The program will air later this season on a date to be announced.

Miami City Ballet's (MCB) milestone 25th Anniversary Season - perhaps the most exciting since its very first season - will feature a major Company Premiere in each of its four Programs - including Romeo and Juliet. Plus the return of the Opus One Orchestra at each of its Program I-IV performances. The 2010-2011 season in South Florida begins on October 15, 2010 and runs through May 1, 2011. The Company performs at Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, at Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale; and at Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach.
