Dead Writers Theatre Collective has announced the Chicago premiere of Adam Pasen's Tea with Edie and Fitz, directed by Jim Schneider, April 26 - June 9, at the Greenhouse Theater Complex, 2257 North Lincoln Ave. Preview performances are April 26 - April 28. Opening/press night is Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. and will be followed by a reception.

Shakespeare & Company's Artistic Director Tony Simotes has announced the much anticipated return to its origins this summer in an exciting special engagement at Edith Wharton's Home, The Mount. Beginning July 20, the Company's non-union schools tour, the Northeast Regional Tour of Shakespeare, will perform William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Plunkett Street address in Lenox where the landmark theatre company was created in 1978.

Dead Writers Theatre Collective is proud to announce the Chicago premiere of Adam Pasen's Tea with Edie and Fitz, directed by Jim Schneider, April 26 - June 9, at the Greenhouse Theater Complex, 2257 North Lincoln Ave. Preview performances are April 26 - April 28. Opening/press night is Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. and will be followed by a reception. The performance schedule is Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 for previews and $30 for the scheduled run. Arena Stage Playwrights' Arena and Kogod Cradle Series Announced

Six D.C.-area playwrights have been selected to participate in the inaugural Playwrights' Arena as part of the American Voices New Play Institute at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Playwrights' Arena is a collaborative group of local writers dedicated to the support and development of each other's work and practice. The yearlong program commences in January 2013, and the inaugural members include Norman Allen, Randy Baker, Jacqueline E. Lawton, Heather McDonald, Danielle Mohlman and Shawn Northrip. Also in January as part of the Institute's programming will be the next installment of the Kogod Cradle Series featuring readings of The Age of Innocence, a new adaptation for the stage by Resident Playwright Karen Zacarías, January 14-16, 2013.

Shakespeare & Company has announced The Conservatory at Shakespeare & Company's winter production of King John, directed by longtime Company artist, and star of this summer's critically acclaimed production of Cassandra Speaks, Tod Randolph. Now in its sixth year, the Conservatory, a 13-week professional actor training program includes 10 - 16 promising actors from across the country and around the globe. This year's program features a group of 16 who will join forces in Shakespeare's rarely produced King John for three special performances in the Tina Packer Playhouse.
