Drama League to Honor CBS' THE GOOD WIFE at Annual Gala

The Drama League will recognize the CBS Television series "The Good Wife" as its 2015 Arts Ally in recognition of Executive Producers Robert and Michelle King and Casting Director Mark Saks, whose enthusiastic support of the Broadway community and its artists have immeasurably benefited both the television and theater industries.

Gotham Chamber Opera to Present THE TEMPEST SONGBOOK, 3/27-29

Gotham Chamber Opera presents the final production of the 2014/2015 season, The Tempest Songbook, comprised of incidental music for The Tempest composed in 1695 and attributed to Henry Purcell and Kaija Saariaho's 2004 Tempest Songbook for soprano, baritone and period instrument ensemble, in its U.S. and World Stage Premieres.A co-production with The Martha Graham Dance Company, The Tempest Songbook will be performed in The Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, with three performances from March 27 - 29, 2015. Performances: Friday and Saturday at 7pm, Sunday at 3pm. Tickets range from $30 to $175 and are available at metmuseum.org/tickets.

The 20th Anniversary National Tour of 'Broadway's longest running musical revue,' Smokey Joe's Cafe, rocks its way to Harris Center for the Arts in Folsom opening January 2, 2015. This toe-tapping musical features some 38 Billboard hits from the legendary team of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. This show, billed as 'the hottest joint in town', is directed by Tony Award nominee Chet Walker and features the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame group, The Coasters. The full Smokey Joe's Cafei cast of fourteen singers and dancers perform to a live on-stage musical ensemble.

Performances run January 23 through March 1 at the Loeb Drama Center.
