It was revealed today that Larry Charles ("Borat," "The Dictator," TV's "Seinfeld," "Curb Your Enthusiasm") will write a reimagined version of the cult Australian hit "The Man Who Sued God"

The Daily Mail writes that Tony nominee Sophie Okonedo, currently starring in A RAISIN IN THE SUN on Broadway, will appear opposite Benedict Cumberbatch and others in BBC TV's upcoming trilogy THE HOLLOW CROWN, which includes Shakespeare's HENRY VI trilogy and RICHARD III.

Yesterday Julianne Moore hosted an afternoon tea in honor of Tony nominee LaTanya Richardson Jackson, currently starring as Lena Younger in A RAISIN IN THE SUN. Held at Lady Mendl's at the Inn at Irving Place, an impressive group of women from theatre, film and television, including LaTanya's fellow Tony nominated costars Sophie Okonedo and Anika Noni Rose, gathered to salute LaTanya. Although she was unable to attend, First Lady Michelle Obama did send a note which was read aloud by Julianne Moore after Ms. Moore made a toast to LaTanya. Samuel L. Jackson and Bart Freundlich crashed the party to enjoy the afternoon with their wives.

Columbia Pictures has released a new international trailer for director Antoine Fuqua's THE EQUALIZER, starring Denzel Washington in the title role as well as Chloë Grace Moretz. The film hits theaters on September 26th. Check it out below!

With the help of students from the Master of Fine Arts and Young Conservatory programs, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) raised over $670,000 at its 2014 Season Gala, FLEISHHACKER, MAGNIN, SWIG -- A.C.T.'s MAD, MAD MEN, which honored the three founding fathers of A.C.T. -- Mortimer Fleishhacker, Jr., Cyril Magnin, and Melvin Swig -- and celebrated the past, present, and future of the organization. The Gala took place on Sunday, May 18, at the historic Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. The proceeds from the Gala support A.C.T.'s actor training and arts education programs.

PIX11, Tribune Broadcasting's New York CW affiliate, has partnered with Broadway Channel to present “Broadway Profiles” a series of quarterly primetime Broadway specials hosted by PIX11's Emmy-Award winning anchor Tamsen Fadal. The first installment, “Broadway Profiles: The Road to the Tonys,” will air on PIX11 this Sunday, May 25th at 7pm ET.

The Village Voice, the nation's largest alternative weekly newspaper, will hold the 59th Annual Obie Awards tonight, Monday, May 19, 2014, at Webster Hall in the East Village, 125 East 11th Street. The Obies will be co-hosted by the distinguished actress Tamara Tunie, whose many memorable stage performances include the lead in the Public Theater's Troilus and Cressida, while her film and television credits include Devil's Advocate, FLIGHT, City Hall, Snake Eyes, Eve's Bayou, The Caveman's Valentine, The Red Road, 'Law and Order: SVU', '24', 'Sex and The City', 'NYPD Blue'.

The 1979 cult classic 'The Warriors', with an introductory performance by acclaimed poet Lemon Andersen., is the next screening in the 'Sunday Movies at the Palace with Lin-Manuel Miranda' series that features classic New York City films every month.
