Beloved actor Michael J. Fox to receive inaugural Visionary Award at DaVinci International Film Festival. Fox's extraordinary work in film, television, and advocacy for Parkinson's disease research will be honored.

HBO Original four-part true crime docuseries BURDEN OF PROOF, directed by award-winning filmmaker Cynthia Hill (HBO’s “Private Violence”). With revealing commentary from a wide cast of characters, the interviewees include Jennifer’s parents Ron and Margie Pandos, family members, high school friends, current and former investigators, among others.

Michael J. Fox will be in attendance at the Museum to accept his award for Lifetime Achievement. Additional guests will be announced at a later date. Michael J. Fox gained fame for his starring roles playing Alex P. Keaton on the sitcom Family Ties and Marty McFly in Back to the Future.

Hulu today announced that it has promoted two Original content executives to vice president. Ashley Chang is now vice president, Content Development, Drama, Hulu Originals, reporting to Sasha Silver, head of Drama, Hulu Originals; and Beth Osisek is now vice president, Original Documentaries and Limited Series, Hulu Originals.

The acquisition is for worldwide rights, with the film set for theatrical release as well as exclusively streaming on Hulu in the U.S. and internationally on Star and Star+.

The TIFF Tribute Gala will also include the new Mary Pickford Award, honouring a female emerging talent in the industry. The inaugural award is given this year in celebration of United Artists' 100th anniversary. The recipient of this award, as well as additional honourees for the TIFF Tribute Gala, will be announced in the coming weeks.

Fifty-eight film and television writers have been named finalists for The 44 th Annual HUMANITAS Prize, it was announced today by HUMANITAS Executive Director Cathleen Young and President Ali LeRoi. The writers are nominated for their work in the 30-minute Comedy, 60-minute Drama, Children's Teleplay, Independent Feature Film, Drama Feature Film, Comedy Feature Film, Family Feature Film and Documentary categories. The HUMANITAS Prize was created to honor film and television writers whose work inspires compassion, hope, and understanding in the human family.
