Marlo Thomas Joins George Street Playhouse's CLEVER LITTLE LIES

George Street Playhouse Artistic Director David Saint announced today that the theatre has postponed their scheduled production of Clever Little Lies, penned by Tony Award-winning playwright Joe DiPietro, which was to star award-winning actress Marlo Thomas. Mark St. Germain's critically-acclaimed play The Best of Enemies, originally produced by Barrington Stage Company, will take its place in the New Brunswick theatre's season, running November 29 - December 23.

Last season it was their 2011 BEST PRODUCTION (Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, LA Weekly, Ovation, and Garland Awards) Small Engine Repair which started out in the "Off The Clock" series. Now, in the tradition of offering 'edgier' entertainment in this slot, Rogue Machine launches the World Premiere of Rob Mersola's Dirty Filthy Love Story tonight, October 6th at 10:30pm.
Alfa Art Gallery to Curate Exhibits at George Street Playhouse

Two New Brunswick-based Arts organizations (aided by a third) have announced a new partnership. Alfa Art Gallery, which has called New Brunswick home since 2008, will partner with George Street Playhouse in presenting a series of rotating exhibits to be presented throughout the Theatre's 2012-13 season. The exhibit, co-sponsored by The New Brunswick Cultural Center, will be changed to correspond with the opening of each of the Playhouse's five productions. Located in George Street Playhouse's Cabaret lobby space, each display will be available to view during regular box office operating hours.

George Street Playhouse and Artistic Director David Saint have announced that full casting for their 2012-13 season opener, One Slight Hitch, has been completed. Joining the previously-announced Mark Linn-Baker will be Clea Alsip, Rosie Benton, Lauren Ashley Carter, Scott Drummond, Lizbeth Mackay and Christopher Tocco. Helmed by Joe Grifasi, this tale of matrimonial mayhem will begin performances tonight, October 2 and continue through Sunday, October 28. Opening night, with a dessert reception sponsored by Stage Left and Catherine Lombardi restaurants, will be Friday, October 5.

Tongue in Cheek Theater Productions will present Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Our Town, for eight performances this October. The play is a love story between Emily and George, and a love letter to small town life in America.

George Street Playhouse has announced that VENUS IN FUR by David Ives will complete the line-up for the 2012-13 season. The theatre's spring production, which had previously been unannounced, will run from April 23 through May 18. Opening Night will be on Friday, April 26.
