Coming to the Durham Performing Arts Center from March 10th-15th is the national touring production of the Tony Award-Winning hit Broadway musical Kinky Boots starring North Carolina native J. Harrison Ghee as Lola, a role originated on Broadway by Tony Award-Winner Billy Porter.

Harvey Fierstein is on a UK kick these days. According to the Daily Mail, the book writer and actor said that NEWSIES, which is currently touring the United States, will arrive in the West End 'in the next couple of years,' once the right theater is available.

Kinky Boots, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award-winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots), opens for a two-week engagement at the Forrest Theatre on April 28 - May 10, as part of Broadway Philadelphia, presented collaboratively by the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and the Shubert Organization. The press opening is Wednesday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m.

59E59 Theaters and Prospect Theater Company announce cast for the NYC premiere LONG STORY SHORT, adapted from David Schulner's play An Infinite Ache by Brendan Milburn and Valerie Vigoda, and directed by Kent Nicholson. LONG STORY SHORT begins performances on February 28 for a limited engagement through March 29. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:15 PM, Friday at 8:15 PM; Today at 2:15 PM and 8:15 PM; and Sunday at 3:15 PM. Please note the following schedule adjustments: there are no matinee performances today, February 28 and Today, March 7; the performance on Sunday, March 1 is at 7:15 PM only. Tickets for the UK premiere of Kinky Boots, Broadway's huge-hearted, high-heeled hit, will go on sale from Monday 2 March 2015, and will open at London's Adelphi Theatre on 15 September 2015, with previews from 21 August.

According to the Daily Mail, book writer Harvey Fierstein has taken a fine-toothed comb to Kinky Boots to make sure 'no Americanisms' will appear in the musical's London run.

Kinky Boots is an exciting evening full of humor and heart. Despite the racy title and drag stars, the show is remarkably family-friendly, rarely straying from PG/PG-13 themes. With equal parts guts and glitter, this extravaganza is sure to please the whole crowd!

Dixon Place's new dance commission and the feath3r theory's production of, COLOR ME, WARHOL, will have its world premiere on April 10th. Conceived, choreographed and directed by Raja Feather Kelly, this piece is the latest installment of an ongoing series jump-started by Mr. Kelly's interest in Andy Warhol, pop culture, and identity. COLOR ME, WARHOL will play six performances only -- April 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 24th, and 25th at 7:00PM, at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street).

Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) in conjunction with Cyndi Lauper's True Colors Fund hosted an open house to LGBT teens who have experienced homelessness and housing instability. These teens came from Covenant House, Legacy and Fresh Start Community Center to receive 'the complete musical theatre experience.'

Miss P, the Beagle the who was named Best in Show earlier this week at the 2015 Westminster Best in Show, continues her NYC tour, making her Broadway debut last night with a walk-on role in Broadway's Kinky Boots. BroadwayWorld was there for her big night and you can check out photos below!
