In just over two weeks, a parade of long-legged men and women will march into Music Hall at Fair Park, delivering Dallas the national tour of Kinky Boots. As part of Dallas Summer Musical's 75th anniversary season, the show features music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper (yes, that Cyndi Lauper!) and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. Kinky Boots is the dazzling, smash-hit Broadway musical based on the 2005 film of the same name. Yesterday, I spoke with Lindsay Nicole Chambers, who stars as Lauren in the Kinky Boots tour. With three Broadway shows under her belt (Legally Blonde, Hairspray, Lysistrata Jones), and now three Broadway national tours (Elf, Hairspray, Kinky Boots), Lindsay is known for her incredible versatility and her incomparable comedic talent. She's also appeared onscreen in Across The Universe, and in Submissions Only, a comedy web series about the casting and audition process for Broadway theatre (written by and featuring some of Broadway's greatest artists). Lindsay is also no stranger to Dallas, having performed at Dallas Theatre Center in the pre-Broadway run of Lysistrata Jones (which was known as Give It Up in Dallas).

The UK premiere of Kinky Boots, the feel-good multi award-winning musical, will open in the West End on 15 September at the Adelphi Theatre, with previews from 21 August 2015. With a book by four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, music and lyrics by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, and direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell, Kinky Boots won the2013 Tony Award for Best Musical, and the 2014 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album. Tickets at the Adelphi Theatre go on sale from Monday 2 March 2015.

The Daily Mail has confirmed that Kinky Boots, the hit musical that brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award-winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots), will transfer to the West End's Adelphi Theatre this summer.

Legendary rockers Edgar Winter & Rick Derringer return to The Ridgefield Playhouse tonight, February 6, at 8 p.m. Edgar Winter is well known for his million selling record, 'Frankenstein', and other hits such as 'Free Ride' and 'Tobacco Road'. Rick Derringer, as a member of The McCoys, had the number one hit 'Hang On Sloopy' which knocked the Beatles out of their number one spot on Billboard that year. His solo smashes were 'Rock and Roll Hootchie Koo,' 'Still Alive and Well' and 'Teenage Love Affair'. The night will include a tribute to the late Johnny Winter. Last night Nashville was doused with glitter and love as Kinky Boots, the Tony Award winning musical, opened at Tennessee Performing Arts Center. With a book by Harvey Fierstein and music & lyrics by Cyndi Lauper, it is easy to see why Kinky Boots swept the Tony Awards in 2013.

As staged in the six-time Tony Award-winning show, the moment is at once tremendously uncomfortable and remarkably eye-opening, making the audience squirm in their seats due to the unease and the sense of voyeuristic embarrassment they feel, as if they have come upon such a scene happening in their real lives instead of seeing it play out onstage.

New York, New York (January 20, 2015) — On Thursday, February 26, 2015, at 6:00 pm, costume designer Catherine Zehr will discuss her career with New York City's Ballets with a Twist at The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology's Katie Murphy Amphitheatre as part of the museum's Fashion Culture series. Featuring performances of excerpts from artistic director and choreographer Marilyn Klaus' Cocktail Hour: The Show, the event will shed light on the process of designing for dance. Klaus will provide additional insight on Zehr's contribution to the production and join her in answering audience questions.
