The contestants for the seventh annual Broadway Beauty Pageant included Callan Bergmann (Silence! The Musical), Julius C. Carter (SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark), Yurel Echezarreta (Matilda), Matthew Goodrich (The Nance), Orion Griffiths (Pippin), and Paul HeeSang Miller (Mamma Mia!). Four-time Tony nominated and Drama Desk Award-winning actress Tovah Feldshuh hosted the event which took place on May 20th at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place). Orion Griffiths took the crown at the event, which raised more than $50,000 for the Ali Forney Center.
Tommy Hilfiger Launches Surf Shack Summer Program with Art Production Fund

The Tommy Hilfiger Group, which is wholly owned by PVH Corp. [NYSE: PVH], celebrated the launch of its limited edition Surf Shack capsule collection and collaboration with Art Production Fund (APF) - an ongoing partner of the Tommy Hilfiger Corporate Foundation - at No. 8 in New York City. The event also announced the cross-continent Surf Shack bus tour starting in San Diego in June. The customized Surf Shack bus will travel to cities across North America, opening up as a mobile pop-up shop to sell the capsule collection, the artist-designed surf boards and other specialty product.

Last night was the annual Met Gala celebrating the Costume Institute. This year's theme was Punk: Chaos To Couture. The stars did not disappoint in the fashion department. Some went all out punk (did you see Madonna?) confusing the event with a Halloween party, while others played it too safe.

Zoe Saldana is always one to watch at events and on the red carpet. She never fails to keeps things fresh, new and interesting. I would describe her style aesthetic as awesome, eclectic and fashion forward. Saldana chose a Calvin Klein collection skirt and top for her Star Trek: Into Darkness photocall in Berlin. It was a perfect choice for the edgy city of Berlin.

Donna Karan celebrated 'Fashion for Haiti: One Million Hearts' in collaboration with Urban Zen, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and eBay last week. Almost 150 CFDA members, including Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Nicole Miller, personalized papier mâché hearts created by Haiti locals, that will be auctioned on eBay from April 22 to May 2. Sales from the hearts will benefit Urban Zen Foundation and their efforts to support Haitian artisans.

Sara Mearns, New York City Ballet principal dancer, will star in the production, which will be conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert, directed and designed by Doug Fitch, choreographed by Karole Armitage, and produced by Edouard Getaz - Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, June 28 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, June 29 at 8:00 p.m.

The runway at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) will once again be the place for established designers, editors, and other VIPs to preview the fashion industry's most promising young designers when the college presents The Future of Fashion, the annual end-of-year runway show, on May 1 at 6:30 p.m. Approximately 80 outstanding looks created by graduating Fashion Design students will be selected from a field of 330, including sportswear, special occasion, knitwear, intimate apparel, and children's wear designed for fall 2013. This year's show will also showcase a capsule collection by graduating Fashion Design students who spent their final year at the college's Milan campus at the Politecnico di Milano.

Loehmann's Names Finalists of NY Design Challenge With FIT

Three students at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) were named finalists in off-price specialty retailer Loehmann's NY Design Challenge competition, held exclusively with FIT. Ou Ma of Beijing, China; Maor Tapiro from Brooklyn, NY; and Ying Wang of Xi'an, China, received the highest number of votes out of seven semi-finalists during a weeklong contest held on Loehmann's Facebook page.

G-Star RAW announced a licensing deal with Marchon Eyewear, Inc. The license will grant Marchon the rights to manufacture and distribute eyewear collections under the G-Star brand. The first deliveries will be effective from October 2013.
