A drag queen standing up for herself on the subway, a black cop making sense of his chosen profession, and a black republican reeling at the election of Barack Obama are just a few of the characters brought to life in Darian Dauchan's new play Black Sheep. This solo show re-imagines the black experience through a host of characters as they battle the community they supposedly come from while fighting their own isolation in search of an identity that lives outside the box of tribalism.

The House Theatre of Chicago is excited to announce their first-ever Game Night with Peter Sagal, the host of NPR's quiz game show, Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!, Saturday, Oct. 18, 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. at Catalyst Ranch, the innovative event space at 656 W. Randolph, in Chicago's West Loop. Event tickets are $30 and include admission, unlimited game play, pizza and beer. Prize drawing entries are also available for $5 each, with prizes including a tabletop game package and a Wait Wait... prize package. This event is for ages 21+. Her 2012 jazz-chart-topping, Grammy-winning Radio Music Society is a testament to her immense talent, which is worthy of a live performance at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Wednesday, October 1, at 8 p.m. It will be Esperanza Spalding's 'Thank-You October' tour, and she will be joined by long-time collaborators Leo Genovese and Lyndon Rochelle for an intimate performance that includes selections from her critically acclaimed releases Junjo, Esperanza, Chamber Music Society and Radio Music Society. No. 109 Cheese & Wine will serve a wine tasting at 7:15 p.m. during this evening of Art, Wine and Jazz. The work of local artist Pamela Hochstetter will be displayed courtesy of Watershed Gallery. This event is part of the No. 109 Cheese & Wine 'Art, Wine and Jazz' Series. Piccolo's Pizza & Pasta Jazzeria (24 Prospect St., Ridgefield) will pour a complimentary glass of wine with dinner the night of this show when ticket is presented.
