CALIFORNIA: THE TEMPEST will travel to ten diverse California cities over the course of the year. Journey with Cornerstone from the downtown Los Angeles Arts District to Arvin, Lost Hills, Grayson & Westley, Pacoima, Fowler, East Salinas, Holtville, Eureka, San Francisco and then back to Downtown L.A. (where it all began) as each of these ten communities contributes to writing the play they inspire.

Cornerstone Theater Company is thrilled to present the world premiere of the fourth play in its Hunger Cycle, Love on San Pedro, an unlikely love story set in the intricate and vibrant community of Skid Row, downtown Los Angeles. Love on San Pedro was written by James McManus through a partnership with Full Stage USA at New Dramatists, a program made possible by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The play is directed by Cornerstone ensemble member Shishir Kurup. It will be presented at Los Angeles Mission, opening November 7 and running Wednesdays through Sundays until November 24.

Review: LA's ECLIPSED Explores New Territory

ECLIPSED, presented by the Center Theatre Group and opened at Los Angeles' Kirk Douglas Theatre on Sept. 20th, narrates the daily routine of a group of "wives" (women who are raped and held captive as servants) of a rebel commanding officer in 2003 war-torn Liberia. There isn't much of a storyline. The plot loosely centers around a young, educated "Girl" (Miriam F. Glover) initially staying in the wives' quarters as a stowaway, who ends up being taken as wife Number Four.
