SEX WITH STRANGERS plays Sept. 24-Oct. 11 in Stage West at the Herberger Theater Center, 222 E. Monroe.

The Douglas Morrisson Theatre 2015-2016 Revelations Season kicks off with the regional premiere of Lynn Nottage's biting satire about racial stereotyping in Hollywood: BY THE WAY, MEET VERA STARK.  By The Way, Meet Vera Stark will have 15 performances, including one preview, tonight, August 27, through September 20, 2015, at the Douglas Morrisson Theatre, 22311 N. Third St. in Hayward, CA.

Education dramaturg Ted Sod speaks to Patricia McGregor about directing Ugly Lies the Bone. Ted Sod: Where were you born and educated? When and how did you realize you wanted to become a theatre director?  Did any teachers have a profound influence on you?

Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, announces the full cast and creative team for its production of August Wilson's Seven Guitars, directed by Brandon J. Dirden, an award-winning actor who is making his directorial debut with this production. Seven Guitars is the third play in Wilson's American Century Cycle produced by Two River, following the theater's acclaimed mountings of Jitney and Two Trains Running. Performances will begin in Two River's Rechnitz Theater, 21 Bridge Avenue, on Saturday, September 12 and continue through Sunday, October 4. International City Theatre continues its 30th anniversary season with a production celebrating the 30th anniversary of a modern American classic: Fences by August Wilson. Gregg T. Daniel directs Wilson's powerful drama, opening tonight, August 21, at International City Theatre's home in the Long Beach Performing Arts Center.

Thanks to packed houses and enthusiastic audience response, Multi Ethnic Theater is extending the run of August Wilson's Two Trains Running for two additional weekends, through September 12. Two Trains Running is directed by Lewis Campbell, founder and artistic director of Multi Ethnic Theater. The play concerns the regulars at Memphis Lee's restaurant trying to fight against the urban renewal that would tear the place down and bulldoze the local African-American community. The production is staged at the Gough Street Playhouse, 1620 Gough Street in San Francisco.

Bucks County Playhouse producers Robyn Goodman and Alexander Fraser just announced the 2nd Annual Oscar Hammerstein Festival -- named in honor of the master lyricist who wrote some of America's most beloved and recognizable musicals at his family farm in Bucks County.

Casting is set for Signature Theatre's world premiere of A.R. Gurney's new play Love & Money, directed by Mark Lamos. The production runs tonight, August 15, to September 27, 2015 with an August 24, 2015 opening night in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). The show is a co-production with Westport Country Playhouse.
