As the cold weather continues in Minnesota, the Jungle Theater warms up with an award-winning drama set in hot, steamy Florida. Anna in the Tropics opens the Jungle's 2017 Season on February 11 and runs through March 12, 2017 at the Lyn-Lake neighborhood theater, 2951 Lyndale Ave. S. in Minneapolis. The tropical heat and the American dream prove a volatile combination in this poetic and poignant play written by Cuban-born Nilo Cruz and directed by Los Angeles-based Larissa Kokernot.

The McKittrick Hotel, home of the immersive theater spectacle Sleep No More, presents the New York premiere of The National Theatre of Scotland's The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart, a transporting, music-filled folk theater fable, created by writer David Greig and director Wils Wilson, with design by Georgia McGuinness, movement by Janice Parker and musical direction by Alasdair Macrae.

Hennepin Theatre Trust will launch Spirit: Made Here, sponsored by Andersen Windows, with a free, public celebration in the City Center atrium (615 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis) on Today, Dec. 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. This will be the seventh round of Made Here window displays in WeDo-the West Downtown Minneapolis Cultural District.
