The New York Musical Festival (NYMF), previously known as The New York Musical Theatre Festival, announced today the winners of the 2016 NYMF Awards for Excellence, which were awarded on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 42West NY (514 W. 42nd Street). Kokandy Productions is pleased to celebrate its fifth anniversary with an expanded season featuring four fully produced musicals, including two Chicago premieres and two guest directors. The 2017/18 Season will also include numerous readings and workshops - adding fresh voices to Kokandy's "New Works Initiative" and emphasizing the company's commitment to becoming an increasingly relevant part of Chicagoland's musical theater and new work development communities. The new season also marks Kokandy's transition to a not-for-profit organization.

The new musical, A SCYTHE OF TIME is being presented as part of the New York Musical Theatre festival at the June Havoc Theatre (312 W 36th Street). A SCYTHE OF TIME is written by Alan Harris with music and lyrics by Mark Alan Swanson. It will be directed by David Alpert (IF/THEN), with musical direction by Ryan Cantwell (National Tour: Pippin, Finding Neverland). The New York Musical Festival (NYMF), previously known as The New York Musical Theatre Festival, announced today the initial slate of artists participating in NYMF 2016, taking place from July 11 through August 7 in Midtown Manhattan.

Paines Plough, the UK's leading new writing company, is delighted to announce full cast and creative team for its Roundabout 2016 productions. Accomplished stage and screen actors Remy Beasley, Richard Corgan and Andy Rush will form an ensemble to perform the company's three new plays which will premiere from 5 to 28 August at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe before touring the UK.  The productions will be directed by Paines Plough's Joint Artistic Director, George Perrin with Sound Designer Dom Kennedyand Lighting Designer Prema Mehta completing the creative team.

Hoff-Barthelson Music School's 2015-2016 Master Class Series continues with clarinetist Alan Kay on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at 6:00 p.m., at Hoff-Barthelson Music School, 25 School Lane, Scarsdale.  Mr. Kay will coach Hoff-Barthelson Music School clarinet students in the seventh of nine Master Classes to be given during the 2015-2016 season.  The New York Musical Festival (NYMF), previously known as The New York Musical Theatre Festival, announced today the initial lineup for NYMF 2016. Among the shows announced in the lineup are the Next Link Project musical selections, as well as invited production selections, developmental reading selections, and concerts. Now in its thirteenth year, the 2016 Festival will take place in July at locations around midtown Manhattan in New York City. 

A perfume counter retail worker has won the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting with a piece of work she created for her dissertation at the Royal Central School for Speech and Drama. Katherine Soper's play Wish List took the honour at a ceremony at Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre.

Wish List by Katherine Soper, who currently works in a perfumery on Regent Street in London, was today announced as the winner of the 10th anniversary Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting 2015 - Europe's biggest playwriting prize. She wins a prize of £16,000, and a residency at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester, where today's award ceremony took place and the process towards production begins.

Actors for the remaining plays in Sunday Readings In The Park at Park Theatre have been revealed. Anita Dobson, Angela Griffin, Michael McKell, Andrew C Wadsworth and Honeysuckle Weeks will take part in the intimate readings in the idyllic PARK90 until 6th December. The season is presented by The New Actors Company in association with Park Theatre.

After four seasons, The CW has canceled its Rachel Bilson medical drama HART OF DIXIE, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
