Contra Costa Civic Theatre (CCCT) today announced the cast for its season finale, Ragtime, directed by CCCT Artistic Director Marilyn Langbehn, with music direction by Tania Johnson and choreography by Allison Paraiso. Ragtime, with a Tony award-winning book and score by Terrence McNally, Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, plays CCCT's Main Stage beginning June 15 through July 22. Contra Costa Civic Theatre (CCCT) ends its 55th season with one of the world's most beloved musicals, The Sound of Music, directed by CCCT Artistic Director Marilyn Langbehn with music direction by Kevin Roland and choreography by Rick Wallace, from June 12 through July 19. Performances will be Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm at the theatre.

If there's patron saint of laughing in the face of hard economic times it's Mame Dennis, aka "Auntie Mame," the larger-than-life central figure in the award-winning musical Mame, scheduled to run at the Willows Theatre in Concord, November 17-December 28, 2008. This classic story has enchanted children since its publication in 1911. An orphaned 11-year-old girl finds wonder, friendship and redemption in an abandoned secret garden on her reclusive uncle's Yorkshire estate.
