Kate Davis has shared a new song and video from her upcoming full-length Trophy out November 8 on Solitaire Recordings (Common Holly, Jonathan Something). Brooklyn Vegan premiered the title track today, saying 'It's an instantly satisfying song, one that should appeal to fans of Kate's jazz roots as well as fans of indie rock.' Its video follows the hypnotic performer through a talent show of her own comedic design, as she embodies more personalities — and hairstyles — than displayed to date, and offers new insight into her charming eccentricity. Davis will tour the East Coast in promotion of the indie debut, including a play in Brooklyn, NY on November 15. The full list of dates is below.

SISTER AFRICA, Stephanie Liss' world premiere drama about efforts to aid female and child victims of the Congo's ongoing civil war, will be performed by a cast of actors from the worlds of feature films, opera and the Chicago theater scene. Serpent Club Theater is grateful to receive the support of over 130 sponsors to showcases Matthew Gasda's new play, Ardor, which runs for sixteen shows between Nov 5 to Dec 3rd. Ardor is Gasda's most ambitious play to date: a nine character ensemble, where each character is individuated, complicated, and alive. 'Ardor is ontologically and linguistically ambitious' Gasda explains, 'it attempts to put pressure on our own sense of ourselves not as beings in the world, but as beings who use language to define the world they live in.'

With the generous support of over 130 community members and hundreds of hours of preparation from a passionate team, Serpent Club Theatre's debut of Ardor is turning out to be a huge success. With only six more shows to go, the seats are filling up fast and the reviews- from professional critics to general audience members - are coming in great.

Thicker Than Water looks at the tragic case of Andrea Yates who admitted to drowning her 5 children in the bathtub. 

Playwright Douglas Parker is known for his plays BESSIE:  The Life and Music of Bessie Smith, Life on the Mississippi, a play about young Samuel Clemens and Declarations, a one act play drawn from the letters of John and Abigail Adams.Thicker Than Water looks at the tragic case of Andrea Yates who admitted to drowning her 5 children in the bathtub. 

Redtwist Theatre presents Incident at Vichy, By Arthur Miller, Directed by Ian Frank. Featuring Redtwist company member Michael Sherwin, with guest artists including Jerry Bloom, Matt Browning, Jim Morley, Tim Parker, and Jeff Award-winner, Jeremy Trager.
