Kita Bouroff de Sesa BIO

Kita Bouroff de Sesa, director, choreographer, singer and actress, was born in Paris of Russian parents. She received her music, drama and dance training at the High School of Performing Arts (now LaGuardia) and The Juilliard School, where she worked with legendary masters such as Martha Hill, Jose Limon and Martha Graham in dance; John Houseman in Theater and Jennie Tourel and Vincent La Selva in voice. She performed Musetta/Mimi in La Boheme with the New York Grand Opera, Sonja in The Merry Widow, and Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus with the Manhattan Opera Singers. In stock shows, audiences have seen her as the leading lady in West Side Story, My Fair Lady, Music Man, and Guys and Dolls. She was a soloist at Radio City Music Hall for seven years, as well as choreographer and made her Broadway debut in Desert Song followed by Lerner/Lane’s Carmelina, directed by Jose Ferrer. She has T.V. commercial credits, film credits with Gene Hackman in Power and Robin Williams in Moscow on the Hudson as well as Soap Opera credits on One Life To Live and All My Children. Concertizing with her husband, Gary de Sesa, has taken her to Caracas, Puerto Rico, Paris, Siena, Montreal, Quebec, the major concert halls of Manhattan and most recently with their son to Moscow and St. Petersburg. Kita has her Masters in Guidance Counseling and practiced at Huntington High School, where she headed the Fresh Start program and at St. Francis Prep, where she created the youth advocacy program, S.H.O.C.K (Saving the Health Of our Communities and Kids) which won national awards and had national television coverage. Her students were invited to train spin-off groups in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Florida, upstate New York and New York City. Kita was elected to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. She has been directing and choreographing shows in Half Hollow Hills for more than thirty years and has also directed shows in the Hicksville and Bellmore-Merrick school districts. Kita de Sesa has directed over 100 shows. She joined the Five Town’s faculty in the Fall of 2010 as Associate Professor in the Theatre Department and directed performances of Aladdin and Broadway Bound. Kita’s passion for the voice and theatre has continued throughout as she enjoys preparing private students from Nassau, Suffolk and New York City for school and Broadway auditions as well as NYSSMA adjudication and college entrance auditions. Her students continue to garner lead roles and are accepted as scholarship students at the colleges of their choice.
