KWP Productions AUDITION NOTICE FOR: “The Addams Family Musical” Non-Equity production Directed by: Kim Rommel-Enright and Steve Enright Music Direction by: Evan Ferrar Choreography by: Lindsay White Singing and Reading Auditions will be held: Thursday, August 27th from 6pm -9 pm and Saturday, August 29th from 10 am – 2pm. Dance auditions will be held: Friday, August 28th from 6pm -9pm Call back will be Wednesday, September 2nd from 6pm – 9pm Auditions will be held at the KWP Productions rehearsal studio, 801 Maplewood Drive, #15 Jupiter, FL 33458 All auditions will be appointment only. To receive your audition time please submit headshot and resume to auditions@kwpproductions.com SUBJECT LINE: Addams Family Auditions Rehearsals will start immediately (approximately 10-12 hours a week-Wednesday and Friday evenings and Saturday mornings); show opens October 23rd and runs through November 1st for 8 performances over two weekends at William T. Dwyer High School’s Theatre in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Rehearsals will be held at the KWP Productions rehearsal studio, 801 Maplewood Drive, #15 Jupiter, FL 33458 ALL CONFLICTS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING AT THE AUDITIONS Auditioners should prepare 16 bars, please bring sheet music in your key, An accompanist will be provided. No recorded accompaniment or a cappella singing. Be prepared to do a cold reading from the script. Compensation (stipend) for actors college age and older. No housing provided. Casting for the following roles: GOMEZ ADDAMS: Male actor (40’s -50’s). A man of Spanish descent who takes great pride in his family and revels in all it means to be an “Addams.” He struggles with having to keep his daughters secret from his wife, whom he adores more than death. Smart, comedic actor with tenor vocals. MORTICIA ADDAMS: Female Actress (40’s-50’s) in shape, attractive, leggy, the strength of the family. An easy comedic actress with a sexy, dry wit. Feels her husband is hiding something from her and will use any tactic to lure the secret out. A strong dancer/mover with alto/mezzo soprano vocals. UNCLE FESTER: Male actor (40-s – 50’s). The androgynous family member who serves as the musicals narrator. He is larger than life, an energetic, joyous, child-like presence. A vaudeville style comedian with tenor vocals. WEDNESDAY ADDAMS: Female Actress (late teens/early 20’s plays 17). Wednesday is an attractive, in shape girl who has the same dry wit and sensibility of her mother. Finds love with a “normal” boy (Lucas) and wants to introduce his family to hers. Experiences the youthful drama that comes with first love. Strong pop belt vocals. GRANDMA: Female Actress (50’s- 70’s). She is a feisty102 year old woman. Fun and quirky, but don’t mess with Grandma. Comedic actress with strong character vocals. PUGSLEY ADDAMS: Young male actor who plays 12 years old. A charming, funny, husky boy (smaller version of Gomez) who loves being tortured by his sister. He wants to ensure he won’t lose his sister to her new boyfriend so he takes matters into his own hands. Strong, high vocals. Voice not yet changed. LURCH: Male actor. A very tall male character, the Addams butler who knows all. He speaks in moans and groans without becoming a cartoon version of himself. His movement is always very slow Character actor with a low bass vocals to Eb. COLONEL MAL BEINEKE: Male actor (40’s – 50’s). Stuffy father of Lucas and exasperated husband to his rhyming wife, Alice. At one time was a follower of The Grateful Dead but has lost that side of himself. Always looking out for his family. Male actor with high baritone/ tenor vocals. ALICE BEINEKE: Female Actress (40’s). Mother of Lucas, devoted to her family so she puts aside her own desires. In shape, quirky female who often speaks in rhyme. While at the Addams Family dinner party, she drinks a potion that causes her to let her hair down and speak her truth. Comedic actress with soprano / belt vocals. LUCAS BEINEKE: Male actor (late teens/early 20’s plays 19), attractive, in shape young man. Fell in love with Wednesday Addams and plans to marry her. Experiences the youthful pain and drama of young love and struggles with the differences between his family and the Addams family. Contemporary pop tenor vocals. THE ANCESTORS: Male and female ensemble singer/dancers who are smart performers. Dancers who sing and have a fun, quirky sensibility. Some ensemble members may understudy principal roles. Knowledge of tango and flamenco dancing a plus. All ethnicities and racial backgrounds encouraged to audition.
