2016 SEASON AUDITONS ON JANUARY 30 & 31
SEEKING ADULT PERFORMERS FOR
‘BUDDY, THE BUDDY HOLY STORY,’ ‘WEST SIDE STORY,’
‘THE WIZARD OF OZ,’ and ‘SISTER ACT’
Bill Hanney’s Theatre By The Sea will hold local auditions from 10am – 6pmon Saturday, January 30 and Sunday, January 31 at the University of Rhode Island’s Fine Arts Center at 105 Upper College Rd, Kingston, RI. Parking and entrance at rear of building.
Under the Artistic Direction of Kevin P. Hill, the 2016 Summer Season at Bill Hanney’s Theatre By The Sea includes: BUDDY-THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY (June 1-June 19); WEST SIDE STORY (June 22-July 16); THE WIZARD OF OZ (July 20- August 13); SISTER ACT (August 17- September 4 with a possible one week extension).
The auditions will run from 10am-6pm both days, with an hour lunch break at 1pm. AEA members will be seen first in 5 min appointment intervals, AEA performers can make appointments (Starting January 13) by calling
401-782-3800 x 109. Those without an appointment will be seen on a first come first served basis. Non-Equity will be seen after Equity.
Performers are asked to prepare 2 brief songs, 1 up-tempo and 1 ballad. Bring music in the correct key, an accompanist will be provided but will not transpose. Some may be asked to stay and dance. Please bring appropriate dance wear, shoes and knee pads. Please have a picture with the resume stapled on the back.
Seeking Equity and non-Equity male and female performers, singers and dancers of all ethnicities and backgrounds. Full show-by-show casing breakdowns can be found online at:

All those Auditioning must be strong dancers and singers. Everyone must audition and be available for callbacks. No video submissions will be accepted. Theatre By The Sea is a member of the E.M.C. Program. Theatre By The Sea is also looking for students 18+ for our Acting Intern Program- this is a paid internship, housing is provided.
Please note that there will be a separate call for children to play The Munchkins in THE WIZARD OF OZ, date TBA.
