THE DINING ROOM - Windham Theatre Guild
WINDHAM THEATRE GUILD
AUDITIONS
WHAT: The Windham Theatre Guild will hold open auditions for The Dining Room, A. R. Gurney’s classic from 1981 that looks at American life and WASP culture by way of the dining room. Gurney’s vignettes offer a window into a vanishing culture I more than one way. Today the play can be enjoyed as a period piece—an interesting slice of 20th century American life. But it also invites us to consider the meaning of family and the way we live together, gather, or disband.
WHERE: First Congregational Church, 199 Valley Street, Willimantic, CT.
WHEN: Monday and Tuesday, August 28th & 29th at 7pm.
NEEDED: 3 MEN/3 WOMEN, various ages. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Sides will be provided. Each actor will play a variety of ages and should feel comfortable changing characters multiple times throughout the play. Characters are aged from 7 to 90, so we are interest less in your actual age than in your ability to embody the thoughts and feelings of people of different ages and in different relationships. If you have any questions, contact director Tina Huey at
StandardTheater@gmail.com.
Character descriptions can be found on theatre web-site:

SHOW DATES: November 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11 & 12, 2017
