Elaine May, a pair of one act plays that comprised parts of the
scintillating trilogy Relatively Speaking.

both at 7:30 pm, and Saturday, October 14th at 2 pm. Callbacks will be by
invitation only at a date to be announced.

Where:
Little Firehouse Theatre,
298 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell, NJ

Production Dates:
January 27th and 28th, 2018

Summary:
Ethan Coen, creator of such brilliant films as Fargo and The Big
Lebowski, turns his dark-comedy skills toward the stage with
Talking Cure, a bitingly funny tug-of-war between a postal worker
incarcerated in a mental hospital and the therapist trying to treat him.

In George is Dead, multiple-award winner Elaine May (of the famed
Nichols & May comedy duo) presents Doreen, the widow of George, who is
too hilariously spoiled and superficial to grieve. Can anyone be that
monumentally self-absorbed, even in a farce? Happily, yes!

Roles:
Talking Cure (2 men):
Larry - mid to late 30's. Must be energetic and possess good comedic
timing. He challenges not only the idea of needing therapy, but all of
the therapist's efforts to help him.
Doctor - mid to late 50's. Calm, cool disposition. A person who wants
to help no matter what and is up for a challenge.

George is Dead (2 men, 3 women):
Carla - mid 40's. Daughter of Nanny and Doreen's friend. Loving and caring wife and person who often allows herself to be taken advantage of.
Nanny - 60's. Nanny to Doreen, mother of Carla. Lovable, take-charge individual who can handle any kind of problem and always knows what to do.
Funeral Director - 40's to 50's. Dry and buisness oriented. Appears at the very end of the show (may be double cast).
Michael - mid-to-late 40's. Carla's husband. Upset and angry, but not raging (appears very briefly).
Doreen - early 50's. Thinks the world revolves around her. Total and complete disregard for anyone and everyone. Egocentric and spoiled while having great comedic timing.

Upon being cast, any non-members will need to become members of the Bergen County Players; details will be provided at auditions. No equity members will be cast for this production.
