HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE - Basement Arts
Auditions for How I Learned to Drive by Paula Vogel will be next Sunday, February 15th! It is an amazing play and I encourage everyone from all majors to come audition. I've attached a PDF of the script for you to look over.
When: Saturday, February 15th from 1pm-4pm location TBA. You can sign up with the doodle here or walk-ins are welcome!
Callbacks will be that same night (the 15th) from 5pm-8pm (if you have rehearsal at 7pm you will be released early). If you cannot come to either the auditions or callbacks please email me to set up another time!
What to prepare: 1-2 minute contemporary monologue, dramatic or comedic is fine. Please provide a resume and headshot!
Roles:
Li'l Bit: A woman who starts her journey at 11 years old and ends at 30 years old. She is smart, caring, complex and learning how to drive.
Peck: Attractive man in his late 30s. Despite a few problems, he should be played by an actor one might cast in the role of Atticus in To Kill A Mockingbird
Female Greek Chorus: Plays Mother, Aunt Mary, High School Girls
Male Greek Chorus: Plays Grandfather, Waiter, High School Boys
Teenage Greek Chorus: Plays Grandmother, High School Girls, and the voice of 11 year old Li'l Bit
Performances: April 2-4
Tech/ Dress Rehearsals: March 29-April 1
First Rehearsal: Monday, February 23rd (off for spring break)
Conflicts with: Night of Fights, Cherry Orchard, Iphigenia, Music Man, and In The Heights
