FAME THE MUSICAL

The Bijou Theatre in Bijou Square, Bridgeport is excited to announce open call auditions for its Summer Stage production of
Fame the Musical, directed by Maggie Pangrazio.
Fame will be The Bijou’s second Youth Summer Stock show for actors ages 15-22 years, following the successful run of
In the Heights last year. Bill D’Andrea will provide musical direction, with choreography by Caitlin Ann Roberts.

Open call auditions will be held Sunday, June 7 from 3pm-6-m and Monday, June 8 from 6pm-9pm at The Bijou Box, 150 Elm Street, Bridgeport. Callbacks will take placeWednesday, June 9 from 6pm-9pm, also at The Bijou Box.


Fame requires both skilled singersand dancers, and is a diverse, ensemble show. Flexible casting and most roles featured. All roles open. Non-Equity, no pay. All types and ethnicities are encouraged to audition.All actors should bring a current headshot (or recent photo) and 1 page acting resume or list of theater/performing experience.Please prepare a short selection (no longer than 1 minute) of a song in the style of the show. Singing from the show is ok. Bring sheet music in the correct key – a cappella singing is discouraged. Non-singers are encouraged to bring a song, but indicate their interest in dance roles. The dance auditions will be held during callbacks.

Rehearsals for
Fame will be held Mondays through Thursdays from 6pm-10pm, beginningJune 22 at The Bijou Box, located at 150 Elm Street, one block over from the Theatre. Most actors will be called for most rehearsals.Performances are July 17th, 18th, 24th, and 25th at 7pm, and July 25th and 26th at 3pm.

Auditioning actors must be ages 15-22. All backgrounds and types are encouraged to audition. A fundraising obligation of $250 will be due prior to July 12. Ad sales and alternative fundraising opportunities will be available to raise funds for participation.
