5-MINUTE FRINGE FESTIVAL - Reading Theater Project

Performing artists are invited to submit an original performance piece for our upcoming 5-Minute Fringe Festival. This year’s theme is Finding Home. All submissions should connect to the theme, though the connection doesn’t need to be explicit. Each performer will be invited to use a standard card table (33 inch square surface) so each piece is connected to the others through the theme and a physical object.

Weekly creative labs begin in mid-January: The creative labs give performers a chance to share their work and get feedback. Each performer is required to attend and share their work at least one creative lab.

Technical rehearsals will be Feb. 20 and 21, 2019. The performances will be at the Yocum Institute for Arts Education, 3000 Penn Ave, West Lawn, PA 19609 on February 22 to 24, 2019.

All pieces should be a minimum of 5 minutes long and no longer than 10 minutes in length.

Submissions are due Tuesday, January 1, 2019.

The focus is on performance and storytelling, with minimal sets (chair or rehearsal block) and basic lighting provided by RTP (general wash, lights up and down), with costumes and props provided by you. To submit, email the title and description or script of your project, your resume/headshot, and any additional information about your work to Christopher David Roché at info@readingtheaterproject.com.
