The score is replete with opulent sounds, glowing orchestration, huge climaxes, enormous energy and a veritable kaleidoscope of tonal colors. This Discovery concert offers also a deep contrast between this eruptive music and the tenderness of Chopin's First Piano Concerto, featuring pianist Javier Perianes.
