Please bring a stapled headshot and resume. Prepare EITHER a monologue from modern or contemporary theatre AND/OR a traditional musical theatre song that shows range. If singing, bring sheet music; An Accompanist provided on this day only. Total audition time not to exceed 2 minutes.

MARIA KULYGINA (MASHA): 25-year-old woman. The middle sister. A trained concert pianist. Married to Kulygin, whom she hates. A romantic, in search of true passion. Moody, spiky, dreamy.

IRINA PROZOROVA: 20-year-old woman. The youngest sister -- the only one capable of anything that comes close to optimism. Unfortunately, she is also capable of true despair and a wildly childish sense of entitlement.

ANDREY PROZOROVA: 30-year-old man. The three sisters' brother. Skilled in violin-playing and science. At once ambitious and self- defeating.

NATALIA IVANOVNA (NATASHA): 28-year-old woman. Andrey's love interest and later, his wife. At first well-intentioned, if a bit uncouth; later, manipulative and conniving. Desperately insecure.

FYODOR ILYICH KULYGIN: A man in his late 30’s. Masha's husband. Latin teacher at the high school. A sweet soul. Maddeningly officious. Desperately in love with his wife.
