SARAH GOODWIN
(late 30s - early 40s), a photojournalist, restless and untamed, who, despite her experiences, longs to return to the action of the front lines

JAMES DODD
(late 30s - early 40s), a freelance journalist, Sarah's partner, who loves Sarah but yearns for a more peaceful and domestic existence

RICHARD EHRLICH
(55), Sarah's photo editor, ex-lover and friend

MANDY BLOOM
(25), a cheerful, young and relentlessly normal event planner.
