Breakdown
Seeking a strong and playful acting company; actors who are precise with language, skilled with physical comedy and excellent with dialects.
Theo Maske:
Male, Caucasian, (mid 30' – late 40's). Seeking a strong comic actor who is excellent with language. A burly and/or muscular man. He is a man of his time and his country (Germany 1910)! Overtly masculine. Publicly conservative in his ideas about the roles of men and women. But he is also a man of appetite and on occasion and without his wife's knowledge enjoys the company of a certain kind of woman. A petit bourgeoisie with aspirations of a higher middle class status. Must be comfortable working with a German dialect.
Louise Maske:
Female, Caucasian, (20-30 yrs.). Seeking a strong comic actor who is excellent with language. Very pretty, mid-twenties, Theo’s dutiful, obedient and faithful wife. Delightful, charming, and warm. She is an ideal woman of her time but as the world around her begins to change she begins to discover and harness her real power; we will see her transform from girl to woman. A petit bourgeoisie by marriage but probably comes from even humbler beginnings. She is an innocent but not a pushover nor is she a prude. Must be comfortable working with a German dialect.
