Breakdown:

Mitchell:

Male, mid 30s. The up-and-coming movie star with a “recurring case of homosexuality.” Mitchell is the boy-next-door ready to become a leading man. Young for his age and trying to do the right thing, if he can figure out what that is. Please note: this role requires full nudity briefly in one scene.

Alex:

Male, early 20s. Young, attractive, straight-forward male prostitute. Alex is a rent boy with a sometime girlfriend (ELLEN) and would share her pain and anguish over growing up if he ever stopped to think about it. “The trick,” he says of pain in his past, “would be not to think about it.” Please note: this role requires full nudity briefly in one scene.

Diane:

Female, 40s or 50s. The elegant, bold, all-business agent of MITCHELL, Diane does whatever it takes for her clients and, in turn, her career in Hollywood. This includes acting as the public girlfriend of Mitchell (she is herself a lesbian), whom she is trying to keep in the closet and in the leading role of his upcoming film. Diane is clever, tough, and a problem-solver.

Ellen:

Female, early 20s. The young, hip, beautiful downtown best friend/girlfriend of Alex. Ellen is a wannabe-socialite searching for her scene and very much afraid that, at age 24, there isn’t one left for her. Ellen had no plan for adulthood but to “keep laughing,” but she is having a hard time finding anything very funny in her life as she gets older.
