Breakdown
Set in a quintessential American restaurant, entire lives whiz by for a modern family whose stage and age are short-order fare. From birth to that inevitable last course –and every corndog, calamari and Cadillac margarita in-between – a multi generational potluck of characters live life’s major and minor moments around the dinner table. Expect humor and heartache as eight actors portraying 26 characters and five generations serve up a veritable theatrical feast.
CAST BREAKDOWN:
Seeking actors to play multiple characters associated with five generations of one mid-western American family.
WOMAN #2: female, 35-45. This actor plays NICOLE, MADDIE (Sam & Nicole’s daughter), then JACKIE (Robbie & Stephanie’s daughter).
WOMAN #3: female, early 20s. This actor plays NICOLE as a young woman, Jessica (“a gentle soul” who develops a work friendship with SAM that becomes awkward when it crosses boundaries), MADDIE (Sam & Nicole’s daughter as a young woman),
STEPHANIE (Robbie’s wife as a young woman), MEGAN (Sammie’s girlfriend), JACKIE (Robbie & Stephanie’s daughter as a young woman).
MAN #2: male, 35-45. This actor plays SAM, then ROBBIE (his son as a middle-aged man).
MAN #3: male, early 20s. This actor plays SAM as a young man, then Robbie (his son as a young man), then STEVEN, MARCUS, JEREMY, PATRICK & MICHAEL (Maddie’s adolescent boyfriends), then SAMMY (Maddie’s son as a young man).
GIRL: female, 9-12. This role will be double-cast. Each actor will play PESKY LITTLE
GIRL, then MADDIE (Sam & Nicole’s daughter as a girl), then JACKIE (Robbie & Stephanie’s daughter as a girl).
BOY: male, 9-12. This role will be double-cast. Each actor will play PESKY LITTLE BOY, then ROBBIE (Sam & Nicole’s son as a boy), then SAMMIE (Maddie’s son as a boy), then MATTHEW (Jackie’s son as a boy).
All roles are acceptable for non-traditional casting unless otherwise specified. Artists Rep seeks and encourages participation by performers of all races and ethnicities.
