Actors for Sojourners and/or runboyrun, two plays by Mfoniso Udofia being presented in repertory by Magic Theatre.

Preparation
Sides will be sent along with appointments

Breakdown

**All characters have Ibibio accent except Moxie. An ear for dialects is a must. Please audtionwith a west African dialect as related as possible.**

Abasiama Ufot (runboyrun)- Mid-fifties. She lives in Worcester, MA with her husband. Trying to navigate life with a man who is losing his grip on the present and on reality. Tough and resilient, but with a deep pool of love for her husband and family. Ibibio accent.

Sister (runboyrun)-Early 20's African woman. The middle daughter in the Ufot family. Loving and protective. She tells great stories to entertain her little brother. Ibibio accent.

Mother (runboyrun)-40-65. Ufot family matriarch. A brutal and powerful woman that commands her family with unquestionable strength. Ibibio accent.

Bengun (runboyrun)-Late 20's African man. A victim of early national strife, physically disabled and mentally shell-shocked. He is haunted by what happened to him. Ibibio accent.

Abasiama (sojourners)- Early-mid twenties African woman. Paragon of well-bred Nigerian femininity. has moved from Nigeria to Texas with her husband Ukpong to pursue her education Begins exceptionally guileless. Ibibio accent.

Disciple Ufot (sojourners)-Mid 20's African man. Exceedingly intelligent and driven. Moved to America alone to pursue his education. Prays sincerely and enthusiastically.

Ukpong Ekpeyong (sojourners)- Mid-late 20's African man. High on life and on America. A man-child with effortless and magnetic charisma. Moved to America with Abasiama to go to college, but has found other things more interesting. Ibibio accent.

Moxie Annamae Willis (sojourners)-Teens-very early twenties. Frayed from the harsh realities of street life. Quick-witted and hard edged. Far younger in age than attitude might belie. Massachusetts born and southern bred. Texas accent.
