Breakdown

Amalia Balash (Soprano: Range: C4 - B5) to play 25 – 35: The eager new employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie, Attractive, personable, but a tad shy. Despite being a skilled saleswoman, she easily becomes intimidated and nervous. A little too sharp for her own good? A dreamer with the ability to take charge. Attractive, bright, and a lover of literature.

Georg Nowack (Baritone, Range: B2 - F4) To play 25-45: An established employee of Maraczek's Parfumerie, he resembles a hopeless romantic. Soft-spoken, well read, personable, and strong. Shy and intelligent. A respected colleague and citizen.

Ilona Ritter (Mezzo-Soprano Range: F#3 - E5) to play 35-45: A woman experienced in both life and men. A bit weary, but enjoys the mentor role. Employed at Maraczek's Parfumerie, sexy and learned in the ways of romance, but longing for something more from the game of love.

Steven Kodaly (High Baritone/Tenor Range: B2 - A4) to play 35-50: A handsome ladies’ man. Well respected and liked employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. Though he is considered dapper and occasionally charming, he is more of a shallow womanizer with the charm to stay out of trouble.

Ladislav Sipos (Baritone Range: A2 - E4) to play 40+: Family man stuck in a dull existence. Very agreeable, a friend to all. Not the brightest employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. A confidant to Georg, he is an optimistic family man who looks like a huggable father.

Mr. Maraczek (Baritone, Range: B2 - C4) to play 50+: Owner of Maraczek's Parfumerie, with a commanding presence. A disciplined businessman. A stubborn perfectionist who runs a tight shop. His dedication to the trade is rivaled only by his faithfulness to his wife.

Arpad Laszlo (Tenor, Range: Bb2 - E4) to play 18 -25: Bright young delivery boy at Maraczek's Parfumerie. His exuberance is infectious and commitment to his job remarkable. Ambitious, studious, and adorable.

Waiter (Tenor/Bari–Tenor) to play 25+: The Headwaiter and a proud man with a singular goal. A slightly androgynous, flamboyant cafe manager who runs a tight ship and expects discretion and efficiency for his patrons. Male, indeterminate age Range: Baritone-Tenor (comic).

Busboy to play 18+: A dancer at a romantic restaurant.

Mr. Keller to play 25+: a private investigator with an important secret.

Ensemble: Three women and three men. Customers and patrons of Maraczek’s Parfumerie and Café Imperiale.
