Please prepare one 2 minute Shakespeare monologue in verse

Performance Dates: July 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, 26, 30, 31, August 1st and 2nd

Callbacks will be held by appointment only on Saturday January 18, 2020 from 12-6pm.

EPA Procedures are in effect for audition.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of audition.

BREAKDOWN

TROILUS AND CRESSIDA BREAKDOWN:

Aeneas (*) - A Trojan commander.

Andromache (†) - Princess of Troy and married to Hector.

Antenor - A Trojan commander exchanged for Cressida after being captured by the Greeks.

Cassandra - A Trojan princess and prophetess.

Cressida (†) - A Trojan. The child of Calchas. The person Troilus is in love with.

Hector (*†) - A prince of Troy. The greatest Trojan warrior and matched only by Achilles.

Helen (†) - Eloped with Paris led to the Trojan War. Married to Menelaus.

Pandarus - Cressida's relative. Serves as a go-between for Troilus and Cressida.

Paris (*†) - A prince of Troy, steals Helen, and starts the Trojan War.

Priam - The ruler of Troy, and the parent of Hector, Paris, and Troilus, among others.

Troilus (*†) - A prince of Troy. The younger sibling of Hector and Paris, a valiant warrior, and desperately in love with Cressida.

Achilles (*†) - The greatest of the Greek warriors. Patroclus' best friend and lover.

Agamemnon - The Greek ruler and elder sibling of Menelaus.

Ajax (*) - A Greek warrior second only to Achilles.

Calchas - A Trojan priest. Parent of Cressida. Defected to the Greeks in the early days of the war.

Diomedes (*†) - A Greek commander who seduces Cressida.

Menelaus (*) - A Greek commander, Agamemnon's sibling, and the abandoned spouse of Helen.

Nestor - The oldest of the Greek commanders.

Patroclus (*†) - A Greek warrior. Achilles's best friend and lover.

Thersites (*) - A deformed slave serving Ajax who has a vicious, abusive tongue.

Ulysses (Odysseus) - One of the Greek commanders. A highly intelligent, philosophical person, renowned for cunning.

* = This character is involved in theatrical violence. Previous stage combat training is a plus.

† = will include theatrical intimacy

MALVOLIO, steward in Olivia’s household

FESTE, Olivia’s jester

FABIAN, a gentleman in Olivia’s household

ORSINO, duke (or count) of Illyria

VALENTINE and CURIO gentlemen serving Orsino

SEBASTIAN, Viola’s brother

ANTONIO, friend to Sebastian
