Breakdown

SEEKING:

OTHELLO STANDBY
(Late 30s-50) In this production Othello is a man of Middle Eastern origin. He is an imposing man. A professional soldier and adventurer, He has a commanding presence, and appears to possess enormous self-control and to be supremely self-confident, and yet beneath this poised exterior lies a nature that is unstable and turbulent.

RODERIGO
20's: a father's perfect husband for his daughter: nice looking and rich, but nervous and highly strung. And very gullible.

BRABANTIO/LODOVICO
50's+: Brabantio is a pillar of the community - respectable and self-important, and unashamedly racist but a loving, caring father to Desdemona. Lodovico is a Venetian nobleman; kinsman to Brabantio.
