Seeking:
VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN/THE CREATURE
(MALE, LATE 20’s-Late 30’s, Any Ethnicity) (We will be casting two actors and swapping the roles back and forth – ideally they are not of the same race) VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN; A scientist/THE CREATURE; his creation. An actor of very strong physicality. Must have great facility with language. FRANKENSTEIN is intense, driven, brilliant and self serving to a fault. Upper British dialect. THE CREATURE is an unnatural innocent who becomes malignant in response to his growing understanding of the world and his place in it. Actor may be asked to shave his head.
DE LACEY/MONSIEUR FRANKENSTEIN
(MALE, Mid 40’s- Mid 50’s, Any Ethnicity) DE LACEY-A blind man who lives in the woods who becomes a father figure to The Creature/MONSIEUR FRANKENSTEIN-Victor’s father. DE LACEY is patient and nurturing. MONSIEUR FRANKENSTEIN is strict and authoritative. Both characters are well educated. Actor must have great facility with language. Older leading man. Ability to play the guitar a plus.
ELIZABETH LAVENZA
(FEMALE, Early 20’s, Any Ethnicity) Victor’s cousin and fiancée. Passionate and determined. Thinks she has it all figured out. Well educated and well bred. Beautiful, young leading lady.
GRETEL/CLARICE
(FEMALE, 20’s-30’s, Any Ethnicity)GRETEL- A street prostitute/CLARICE- Elizabeth’s proper Maid. Character actress. Working class accent.
EWAN/ENSEMBLE
(MALE, 50’s-60’s, Any Ethnicity) A poor tenant farmer. Uncle of Rab. Does what it takes to survive. A realist. Character actor. Robs graves for Victor so he can create the female creature.
RAB/ENSEMBLE
MALE, 20’s, Any Ethnicity) Poor tenant farmer. Nephew of Ewan. Naïve and moral. Forced to assist his father in grave robbing.
FELIX/ENSEMBLE
(MALE, 20’s, Any Ethnicity) Agatha’s husband and Delacey’s son. A farmer. Tough physicality, but a gentle man. A loving and protective son. Character actor.
AGATHA/ENSEMBLE
