Ruth Draper’s Company of Characters by Ruth Draper. Runs 6/13-7/21 (no show 7/4; added perf 7/8).
Two-woman show revolving around monologues originally performed by the author. Monologues include "The German Governess", "A Cocktail Party" and "A Charwoman". Both roles (each actress playing a wide variety of characters, ages 20-70, of different social and ethnic backgrounds) are cast; auditioning performers will be considered as possible (emergency) replacements, should any become necessary.
The Poe Mysteries by James Rana. Based on Poe’s C. “The Murders in the Rue Morgue,” “The Mystery of Marie Roget” and “The Purloined Letter”. Runs 7/25-9/1.
World premiere. True ensemble piece.
Note: Although the play takes place in Paris, no French accents will be used.
Auguste Dupin:
35-60. Highly intelligent, reclusive individual who helped police solve crimes in the 1840s.
Henry Williams:
American, 30-45. Journalist who is eager to interview Dupin for his newspaper.
Prefect / Dupin’s Father / Sailor / Others:
Multi-character track (males, 35-50) for one performer. Prefect: Head of the police department.
Professor / Jacques St. Eustache / The Minister / Others:
Multi-character track (males, 30-40) for one performer.
Dupin’s Mother / Estelle Roget / Agnes / Others:
Multi-character track (females, 35-55) for one performer.
Josephine / Marie Roget / Secretary / Others.
Multi-character track (females, 20-30) for one performer.

From 1914. Screwball comedy that proves that “advertising is responsible for everything”.
Mary Grayson:
20-30. Spunky, smart, career-minded. Played by Carole Lombard in the film.
Comtesse de Beaurien:
American, 35-55. Clever, street-wise. Must speak excellent French.
Rodney Martin:
25-35. Born into money and is only convinced to find a job to prove to the woman he loves (Mary) that he’s worth something.
Cyrus Martin:
55-70. Rodney’s father. Wealthy. Wants his son to be able to stand on his own two feet.
Ambrose Peale:
35-55. Fast-talking advertising man who goes into business with Mary and Rodney.
Donald McChesney:
30-45. Advertising man.
Ellery Clark:
20-30. Son of the man who owns Ivory® Soap. Would rather paint than run a business.
George Bronson:
30-55. Buyer for Marhsall Field’s.
William Smith / Johnson:
Two-character track (males, 45-60) for one performer. Smith: Friend of Cyrus’s. Johnson: The Martins’ butler.
Marie / Miss Burke:
Two-character track (females, 24-50) for one performer. Marie: French maid. Must speak French. Miss Burke: A secretary
