Symphony Space's Just Kidding performance series begins with an all-ages concert of swingy tunes by a Brooklyn based band on Saturday, October 1 at 11 am: Vered and the Babes.

Vered Benhorin and her brassy, multi-instrumentally talented Brooklyn based band (Rob Jost, Matt Hilgenberg, Eric Biondo) create rich harmonies and beats reminiscent of doo-wop.

Vered's two albums - Good Morning My Love, and Hello My Baby - received Gold Awards from both Parents' Choice and the National Parenting Publications (NAPPA). Red Tricycle says their music is "one big jazzy love song to childhood."

With lyrics that nod to the grownups as well as the kids, Vered and the Babes make sure everyone gets up dancing at their concerts. This full band show kicks off the Just Kidding season with aplomb: "For the first time ever we will have four-part vocal harmonies, three-part brass harmonies, four beat boxing mouths, and eight jumping feet. Our show is going to be sweeter than a hot fudge sundae with rainbow sprinkles." Visit babyintune.com to hear Vered and the Babes' music.

The 2016-17 "Just Kidding" weekly performance series at Symphony Space launches with this all-ages concert, and more shows are coming up most weekends through May 2017. Adults and kids alike will enjoy simplified, lower ticket prices this season, at $17 per ticket, $14 for members (babies under 6 months admitted free). Symphony Space is located at 2537 Broadway, New York, NY 10025 (Upper West Side, at 95th Street). Advance tickets are available online now.
