Mexico City's guitar virtuosos Rodrigo y Gabriela is excited to announce their first nationwide US tour in two years, including two nights at San Francisco's Fillmore and sets at NYC's Terminal 5, DC's 9:30 Club, Minneapolis's First Avenue and more. Beginning this May on the West coast, the duo will be performing tracks from across their extensive catalogue including the most recent LP Nine Dead Alive and songs from their self-titled breakthrough debut, which will be re-released on May 5th in honor of the album's 10th anniversary.
Affectionately known to fans as "the Crocodile album", the original record sold nearly one million copies worldwide and the global success of the album, together with endless touring, established Rod & Gab as one of the most popular acoustic instrumental artists in the world. At the time they made worldwide TV appearances on David Letterman, Jools Holland and Austin City Limits among others, and were featured performers at Bonnaroo and Glastonbury. They also performed multiple night sets at Royal Albert Hall, Hammersmith Apollo, Le Zenith (France), Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Radio City Music Hall (NYC) and the Hollywood Bowl. Rodrigo y Gabriela was originally produced by John Leckie (My Morning Jacket, Radiohead, The Stone Roses) and mastered by Robyn Robins, who also completed the 10th anniversary edition re-master. To be released May 5th, the CD format will be a two CD + one DVD set including the re-mastered album and both a concert film and audio only versions of their momentous 2006 live set from the Olympia Theatre in Dublin. The vinyl version will be a double album on 180-heavyweight vinyl and will be available June 2ndVideos
